Friday the 13th of September 2024 was a day filled with anticipation for K-Pop fans in Atlanta, as one of the most exciting events unfolded at Georgia State University's Rialto Center for the Arts. The atmosphere was charged with excitement and enthusiasm as fans from all walks of life gathered on Forsyth Street, ready to immerse themselves in the world of The KingDom during their first U.S. tour, 'UNVIEL!'.
Fans who were lucky enough to secure their VIP tiers were treated to an exclusive soundcheck session that set the stage for an incredible night ahead! As they eagerly took their seats, the mesmerizing ambiance of the venue left newcomers in awe of its unique charm. The illustrious Rialto Center for the Arts, a beacon of culture in downtown Atlanta, provided the perfect setting for this musical spectacle. Its grandeur and rich history added an extra touch of magic to the already electrifying evening, making it an unforgettable experience for all who were fortunate enough to be there!
As the lights dimmed and the VCR started rolling, the music filled the air and the crowd erupted with cheers and applause, setting the stage for an absolutely unforgettable night of music, dance, and pure entertainment! Debuting on May 25, 2022 under GF Entertainment, the talented members Dann, Arthur, Mujin, Louis, Ivan, Hwon, and Jahan took the stage one by one under their own spotlight, creating a cozy atmosphere in stylish yet comfortable clothes before kicking off an electrifying performance of "Flip that Coin!" Keeping the energy soaring, the group moved on to the perfect track, "ENERGY," and then showcased their playful side with "X-GAME." The KingDom's performance went beyond expectations, mesmerizing the audience with their talent, charm, and stage presence, leaving an unforgettable impression on the hearts of K-Pop fans in Atlanta. The group then took a moment to introduce themselves, engaging with KINGMAKER – the official fandom name – through moments of gratitude for the cheers and screams. Dann playfully kept fans on their toes, teasing as he saved his introduction for last and also acted as the translator for the other members.
The KingDom continued with an energetic performance of "GUNDAM" before showcasing their diverse skills -- and to take a moment for a quick outfit change -- as Mujin and Dann performed a skillful rendition of BABYMONSTER's "LIKE THAT." The next stage was a mesmerizing blend of harmony by Ivan, Hwon, and Dann during a soulfully adapted performance of Imagine Dragon's "BELIEVER." The transition to the next segment was seamless as a captivating VCR highlighted the group's journey, from their humble beginnings to their current success, setting the stage for what was to come. As the group embarked on their next performance, they took the audience on a nostalgic journey by revisiting their roots with a powerful rendition of "EXCALIBUR." Dressed in simple blacks and whites, the members let their raw talent shine, captivating the crowd with their vocal prowess and stage presence. This stripped-down approach allowed for a more intimate connection with the audience, showcasing the group's authenticity and musicality. Building on this momentum, The KingDom continued to enthrall the crowd with a series of fan-favorite hits, including "Long Live the King," "Ascension," "Dystopia," and "COUP D'ETAT." Each performance was met with thunderous applause and cheers, with KINGMAKER enthusiasts singing along to every word, creating an electrifying atmosphere that resonated throughout the venue.
Next up, it was time to showcase the group's vibrant and carefree personalities from Arthur and Louis with an electrifying performance of NCT U's "Baby Don't Stop" before being joined by Jahan for BSS's "Just do it,"-- with Arthur leading the playful dance moves. The crowd's excitement reached new heights as the members closed their cover stages with a show-stopping rendition of One Direction's "What Makes You Beautiful." Then, a spontaneous talk stage unfolded where KINGMAKER and The KingDom engaged in lively banter, culminating in Arthur's captivating cover of Taemin's "GUILTY," followed by Jahan's impromptu rendition of Jungkook's "Standing Next To You," thanks to Dann's surprise request. The audience, caught off guard, joined in singing, creating a heartwarming moment filled with laughter and connection. A dedicated fan came to the rescue by passing her phone to Dann, allowing Hwon to showcase his practiced skills. After sharing heartfelt messages, the group performed their fan-favorite song "BEST THING," spreading love and joy throughout the venue. Interacting closely with attendees, they exuded a warm and carefree vibe, making the night truly unforgettable. As the encore "Blinder" kicked in, The KingDom raised the energy to its peak, with members leaping off stage to high-five fans in the aisles. Unwilling to end the night, Dann urged KINGMAKER to join in for multiple encores, creating an electrifying atmosphere. Finally, The KingDom bid farewell in style, with Dann playfully motioning for silence and exiting the stage with a cheeky "SPAM!" - leaving the audience filling the venue with cheers!
It was a night to remember, where Friday the 13th was not about superstition, but about the magic of music and the power of live performances to unite people from different backgrounds in a shared moment of joy and celebration.
