'FOREVER LOVE' Fan Meet: Daou and Offroad Capture Hearts of US Fans with Sold-Out Success in New York

As we brace ourselves for yet another change in the season, we find ourselves reminded that love is a deep emotional bond that is designed to stand the test of time, trials of life, and is forever.

Before springing into Daylight Saving Time, US BL fans gathered in New York at The Melrose Ballroom to meet actors Daou and Offroad during their first North American fan meet. With Thai dramas and BL dramas gaining popularity, fans were eager to see them. Daou debuted on one31’s LAZ iCON, ranking 1st, and joined the group LAZ1 with four other members including co-star Offroad, who placed 2nd. They debuted with the single “Taste Me” on March 7, 2022, and disbanded after the ‘LAZ1 Goodbye Party “Once.” Daou began his solo career with “Would you mind? (เป็นไรมั้ย)” in September 2023, followed by Offroad’s “Complete” in October 2023. Initially singers, Daou and Offroad discovered neither had initially thought they would be actors as well. Offroad made an appearance in the 2022 film “Our Days,” before they reunited in 2023 for the romantic drama ‘Love in Translation,’ which revolves around the intertwined lives of two shop owners who navigate the complexities of love and business. The chemistry between the two actors captivated viewers and added depth to the narrative, making it a standout series within the genre. Their on-screen partnership continued to flourish, noticed in their reunion in 2024’s highly anticipated film ‘Century of Love.’ In this captivating tale, Daou portrayed the character San, a man who is deeply in love and patiently awaits the return of his reincarnated love, while Offroad took on the role of Vee, who plays a crucial part in San's emotional journey. The film's exploration of themes such as love, destiny, and the passage of time struck a chord with audiences, further adding to the duo's popularity. In a revealing interview with Starstruck Media in early 2024, both actors expressed their astonishment at discovering a growing overseas fanbase that had emerged in response to their work. This unexpected recognition not only highlighted their global appeal but also set the stage for what would become the year's most significant event, a gathering that celebrated their accomplishments and allowed fans from around the world to connect with them directly.

Upon entering the intimate venue, attendees made their way to the floor to select a seat that looked most appealing to them. Starting the VVIP experience with a brief sound check that had attendees eager to discover what was in store for the event. Next, it was time to move on to the VIP experience and fan engagements where Daou and Offroad would greet attendees as they took their places on a stage illuminated in a mix of blues, purples, and yellows as they hosted a fan sign. Daou could be visibly seen greeting fans with a brief bow as they approached the table, and a smile that showed off his charm as he interacted with fans, while Offroad was caught beaming from ear to ear with a smile that verified just how happy he was to finally meet the fans as they expressed their own excitement, anxiousness, and eagerness for the duo’s next drama. Following the fan sign, it was time for group photos, followed by high touch, and selfies with individual fans.

As the fans who were able to secure GA tickets to the sold-out show flooded the remaining seats of the two-tiered venue, the stage, bare and empty, was illuminated by the background with the fan meet’s title ‘FOREVER LOVE.’ As fans looked upon the illuminated screen, some took the liberty to take this chance to pass out the freebies they had made for the event to those around them, while others ensured their phones were charged and ready to record. As the venue darkened, cheers filled the space as Daou and Offroad appeared and the stage lights illuminated the duo as Daou began the intro to “Century of Love.” Admiring the fans and each other throughout their performance, the live performance was nothing short of captivating with smooth melodies, and undeniably radiant harmonies. The duo then took a moment to introduce themselves and the hosts for the day – &Chill Media. The hosts seamlessly led into a quick pronunciation segment where Daou taught fans the proper way to say his name, as it begins with a ‘th’ blend. Next Offroad beamed as he claimed, “My name is easy for you guys, right?” Awaiting the crowd’s cheers, he asked, “What’s my name?!?” Daou then challenged Offroad to say his full name – to which he happily obliged, and then taught the crowd how to say it. Cheering on the crowd by exclaiming, “WOW! You guys are amazing!” Upon learning how to say each actor’s name properly, it was time to let the activities begin!

The first segment of the day was a short Q&A with &Chill Media as they discussed the sold-out event to which Daou responded, “As it was just last year, I could not imagine having international fans. I kept wondering how I have international fans. But being here and being together, I am so happy,” as Offroad added, “They say this life is a dream, but the dream came true, today. I would like to do a fan meet in every country because this is my first time traveling.” Daou then expressed the duo’s surprise in finding out that the fan meet had sold out! After a few more questions it was time for the fan games! As Daou and Offroad drew raffle tickets for the lucky guests that would be joining them onstage, the crowd became tense waiting to hear if their number would be called. To ease the tension in the room, and add to the anticipation, Daou and Offroad began calling only the first three numbers to find attendees who matched before reading the remaining numbers. Offroad even called out to the crowd when nobody responded, “2-7-9, 279, Where are you 279? I don’t see you! 279 are you here? Are you with us?” causing chuckles from the crowd as they responded upon the next call for tickets beginning with 279. It was now time for a game of Telestrations as a giant flip chart was placed in the middle of the stage. Upon learning of the game, Daou and Offroad exchanged encouragements, convincing each other they weren’t going to lose, to which Daou immediately turned his response, “But if we lose, then we will lose together,” creating a moment of embarrassment for his counterpart whose face turned a bright shade of red. As Offroad began drawing the first word, the crowd was sure they had it figured out, and that this would be an easy game. Next, it was the fans’ turn, and the game became more interesting as the game continued:

Offroad drew his given word – assumed to be a gun. As fan #1 approached and wrote her guess, the new word suddenly became dog. As fan #2 took her place and began her drawing of the given word, Offroad became curious. Checking out the drawing, all that could be heard was, “Is it too late now to say sorry [music notes]. Oh no. I apologize for my mistake,” Fan #3 approached and continued the previously guessed word as dog. It was now Daou’s turn to draw. Acknowledging the laughter from the crowd, and Offroad’s continued apologies, he took a look at the word, and responded, “Okay. Let me see what you are laughing at. looks Oh, very easy, but ‘no’ I thought.” Beginning to draw, Daou breaks out into song, “Is this the real life? Is this just fantasy,” only generating more chuckles from the crowd before Offroad commented, “It’s all my fault.” Upon completing his drawing of a cat, Daou simply said, “Okay!” to which crowd could not contain anymore of their laughter. Daou added, “Is it close,” and the crowd shook their heads, claiming it was not close. The immediate nonchalant, “Then, I have no idea.” kept fans going. As fan #4 took her place in the middle of the stage, she took a look at Daou’s picture, and was tasked with belting out what her guess is – “A CAT.” She was allowed another guess, to which she asked if it was an animal, and it was deemed that all hope was lost from the MC and the crowd, even as Daou tried to justify the secret word had to correspond with an animal. Daou, trying to redeem the game, was determined he was going to look at the Offroad’s original picture and guess correctly. Humoring the fans who guessed dog, Daou began justifying their guess with different pieces of Offroad’s drawing. Daou then guessed gun as Offroad began to write his answer – which did not begin with a g… Instead it was ‘bodyguard!’ Upon looking at his original drawing, he realized he had forgotten to draw the actual bodyguard, which Daou completed for him.

After quite the eventful game, it was time for the punishment where the duo took turns completing the TikTok trend – You make the face, I make the sound. Showing his ability to think on the fly, Daou executed the punishment without hesitation. Offroad, choosing to keep the mood light, just spouted whatever came to mind regardless of Daou’s facial expressions. Next Offroad was able to show off more of his charms as he took the spotlight to showcase a light-hearted and carefree choreography with a performance of his latest single, “Foul,” which had fans singing along and swaying side to side in their seats. Next, Lila of Starstruck Media joined Daou and Offroad on stage for another brief Q&A where they once again acknowledged their fans for showing their love and support, as well as the fans and the Starstruck Media team for making this two-day fan meet possible. Next it was time to raise the energy as Daou disposed of his jacket so that he could freely perform the high-energy song, “LaLaLye,” where he would only continue to excite the crowd as he jumped from the stage to walk partway down the aisle and back to the stage for the final note chorus of the song. Both actors showcased just how well versatile they are from their acting skills, to their singing capabilities, and even their attempted art skills. Next is time for the final game of the day – guess the pose. One would be blindfolded while the other would “respectfully” touch and feel around the other – enough to be able to replicate their pose. Upon deciding who would be blindfolded first, Daou continued to make his counterpart shy as he reiterated, “So, I will RESPECTFULLY touch you,” which only caused a more bashful Offroad before collecting himself and jumping straight into position. Knowing his counterpart all too well, upon feeling the positions of Offroad’s face, back, arms, hands, legs, (of which Daou had to refrain himself from exploring further at times), and feet, Daou immediately knew that his counterpart was posed as Spiderman. Changing roles, Daou chose to be quite difficult in his pose – twisting his arms like a pretzel, standing on one bent leg, with the other propped up across the planted leg, it was Offroad’s turn to feel his counterpart. After getting quite close, and generating several shrieks from the audience, Offroad was able to replicate the legs, but even with Daou’s assistance just couldn’t quite seem to get his hands in the right position

Sadly that was all the time the day allotted for, so to end the fun and light-hearted event, the fan club for OffDaou created a video highlighting moments of the duo from various fan meets, solo events, their time in LAZ1, and livestreams. As Daou and Offroad watched the video, they were both beaming with smiles of admiration and gratitude. Upon the end of the video, it was time for the commemorative photo before the duo had to give their ending thoughts – where Daou thanked the fans and promised that they were going to try and do more for the fanbase, to which Offroad added, “This is the first step, but this is a big step.”

The duo’s chemistry on-screen is unmatched by many, but their chemistry live is one that many seek in their own relationships. Fans are excited to see Daou and Offroad as they are set to make another appearance in an upcoming drama titled, “The Wicked Game,” coming soon!
