With the announcement of her 2nd U.S. tour with Studio PAV -- 'sick of you' -- fans have been eagerly awaiting for this new drop! Her new single, "sick," delves into the complexities of a toxic relationship, exploring the inner turmoil of oneside lacking self-love while feeling underserving of the seemingly perfect partner. AleXa poignantly expresses the universal struggel fo being blinede by rose-tinted glasses while in love, being unable to fully embrace the love bestowed upon oneself due to low self-worth, creating an interesting narrative.
Throughout the accompanying music video, AleXa is fighting with this version o her boyfriend that she used to put on a pedastal. The climax of the video, where she metaphorically battles and "kills" the idealized version of her boyfriend, signifies her liberation fro the toxic influence and her determination to move forward independently. "sick" thus serves as a poignant reminder of the strenght inherent in self-discovery and the pursuit of healthy love.
Unlike any of her previous singles isnce her 2019 debut, "sick" sees AleXa embracing her early 2000's pop-punk roots, drawing inspiration from iconic artists like Avril Lavigne. This evolution in her sound reflects a bold and authentic exploration of he musical identity, settign the stage for what promises to be a remarkable chapter in her career. Speaking about this transformative phase. AleXa shares,
"This era of my career feels like the most authentic version of myself. 'sick' is a departure from my previous releases, and I'm excited to share a side of me that is deeply connected to my pop-punk influences."
